Cookie policy

Last updated: October 2026

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember your preferences, understand how you use the site, and improve your experience.

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies we use, why we use them, and how you can control them.

2. Types of Cookies We Use

2.1 Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the website to function properly. They cannot be disabled.

Cookie NamePurposeDurationProvider
otinga_consentStores your cookie consent preferences6 monthsOtinga
session_idMaintains your session when logged into platformsSessionOtinga
otinga_afCredits the person or campaign that referred you (see below)90 days, renewed each time you visitOtinga

About otinga_af: if you arrive through a referral or campaign link, we set this first-party cookie on the otinga.io domain (so it is also readable on subdomains of otinga.io). It is set whether or not you accept analytics cookies, because its only purpose is to credit the referrer. It holds the referral code and campaign details from your link (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content), the Google (gclid) and Meta (fbclid) click identifiers when the link carries them, the website that sent you, the landing address of your first visit and the time of that visit. The first referral that reached you is the one kept. The same information is also kept in your browser's local storage; if you delete only the cookie, it is written again from local storage on your next page view, so delete both to remove it. For more detail see the workshop privacy notice.

2.2 Analytics (Cookieless Until You Accept)

We use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use our website. They measure every visit, but they only use cookies with your explicit consent.

Before you choose, and if you choose Necessary Only: Google Analytics and Clarity load on every page and count your visit without setting any cookie on otinga.io and without storing an identifier of their own on your device. Google Analytics is told that analytics storage is denied, so it sends a cookieless measurement (the page you viewed, the referring website, coarse browser and device details and your IP address, which Google Analytics does not store or log). Clarity runs in its no-consent mode: it gives each page view its own unique ID that is not saved on your device, so your pages are not joined into a single session or a single visitor. Google and Microsoft still receive the technical details every web request carries, such as your IP address and browser, and Microsoft's own servers, which deliver the Clarity script, set cookies of their own on Microsoft domains (not on otinga.io) as soon as the script loads, before you choose and also under Necessary Only (listed below); see the Microsoft Privacy Statement. The visit counts are less detailed than with cookies, and Google may model the gaps.

If you click Accept All: the same tools switch to full measurement and set the cookies below, which recognise you across pages and visits.

None of these is set on otinga.io before you click Accept All. If you later withdraw (see section 4.1), we tell both tools that consent is denied and remove the cookies they set on otinga.io.

Clarity also keeps a key named _cltk in your browser's session storage (not a cookie). It is there from the first page view, whatever you choose, and your browser deletes it when you close the tab.

Cookies Microsoft sets on its own domains

When the Clarity script loads, Microsoft's servers set these cookies on Microsoft domains, not on otinga.io. They are set before you choose and stay after Necessary Only, because they come from Microsoft's servers and not from our site, so our banner cannot hold them back or remove them. You can delete them in your browser settings (section 4.2), and a browser that blocks third-party cookies will not store them. The durations are what we observed when we checked in October 2026 and may change.

What data is collected:

  • Pages visited
  • Time spent on each page
  • Links clicked
  • Referring website
  • Device type and browser
  • Approximate location (city/country level)

Why we collect it:

  • Understand which content is most valuable
  • Improve website navigation and user experience
  • Measure effectiveness of marketing campaigns
  • Identify technical issues

Third-party services:

  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4): Google Analytics Privacy Policy. Google acts as a data processor on our behalf. Data retention is 26 months (GA4 default). IP addresses are not stored or logged by GA4.
  • Microsoft Clarity: Microsoft Privacy Statement. Clarity records how visitors click, scroll and move through our pages.

2.3 Marketing Cookies

These cookies are used to measure and show our adverts. We only set them if you click Accept All.

Cookie NamePurposeDurationProvider
_fbpIdentifies your browser so Meta can measure our advertsAbout 90 daysMeta Platforms
_fbcRecords that you arrived from a Meta advertAbout 90 daysMeta Platforms

If you click Accept All, we load the Meta Pixel, a tool from Meta Platforms. It sets the cookie _fbp (about 90 days) and, when you arrive from a Meta advert, _fbc. Your choice is stored in the cookie otinga_consent. It tells Meta which pages you view and which steps you take, for example viewing the workshop offer, booking a call or paying. We use this to measure our adverts and to show our adverts to people who visited our site. We do not send Meta your name, email address, phone number or form answers, and we do not send it from pages that carry a personal download link. If you choose Necessary Only, the Meta Pixel does not load. To change your choice, use the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page; the banner reopens and you can choose again. You can also manage adverts you see at facebook.com/adpreferences.

3. How We Use Cookies

3.1 Essential Functions

  • Maintain your login session when using our platforms
  • Remember your cookie consent choices
  • Provide security features (e.g., CSRF protection)
  • Measure website traffic and popular content
  • Understand user journeys and conversion paths
  • Identify and fix usability issues
  • Optimize page load times and performance

When you first visit our website, you'll see a cookie consent banner with two options:

  • Accept All: Allows the cookies of Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity (they then recognise you across pages and visits), and loads the Userback feedback widget and the Meta Pixel to measure and show our adverts
  • Necessary Only: Only necessary cookies are set by us (including otinga_af when you arrive through a referral or campaign link). Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity keep measuring your visit but stay cookieless on otinga.io (section 2.2, which also lists the cookies Microsoft sets on its own domains); the Userback feedback widget and the Meta Pixel are not loaded. Two services sit partly outside this choice: Cloudflare Web Analytics (section 5.3) and the Calendly booking window, which only loads if you click "Show available times" (section 5.5)

Until you click either button, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity behave as they do under Necessary Only.

Your choice is stored for 6 months. You can change it at any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page. It reopens the same banner and shows your current choice; pick Accept All or Necessary Only, or close the banner (the Close button or the Escape key) to keep what you have. If you switch to Necessary Only, we tell Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity straight away, they go back to cookieless measurement, and we remove the cookies they set. We also stop the Meta Pixel straight away (it sends nothing more to Meta and we remove its cookies, _fbp and _fbc) and close the Userback feedback widget, and neither starts again unless you choose Accept All. If you clear the cookies for otinga.io in your browser instead, the banner asks again on your next visit.

4.2 Browser Settings

Most browsers allow you to:

  • View and delete cookies
  • Block cookies from all or specific websites
  • Receive a notification before a cookie is stored
  • Browse in "private" or "incognito" mode (cookies are deleted when you close the browser)

Note: Blocking necessary cookies may prevent parts of our website from functioning properly.

Browser cookie settings:

4.3 Opt-Out Tools

For Google Analytics specifically, you can:

We do not currently act on the "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signals from your browser. Your choice in our cookie banner, which you can change at any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page, is how you control analytics, feedback and marketing cookies on our site.

5. Other Tracking Technologies

5.1 Local Storage

We may use HTML5 local storage to:

  • Cache data for faster page loads
  • Store user preferences (e.g., dark mode, language)
  • Enable offline functionality in our platforms

Local storage is similar to cookies but stored indefinitely until you clear it. You can clear local storage through your browser's developer tools or privacy settings.

5.2 Meta Pixel

5.3 Cloudflare Web Analytics

Our website is delivered through Cloudflare. Cloudflare adds its own Web Analytics script to our pages at its network edge, not from our code, so it loads whichever button you click in our cookie banner and we cannot switch it off for a single visitor. It does not set cookies and does not use local storage. It measures page loads and site performance (for example which pages are viewed, the page load time, the referring website, and your country, browser and device type) and does not track you across other websites. See the Cloudflare privacy policy.

5.4 Userback Feedback Widget

If you click Accept All, we load Userback, a feedback tool from Userback. It adds a feedback button to our pages. Once loaded it contacts Userback's servers and may store an identifier in your browser, and if you send feedback it receives your message, a screenshot, and technical details such as your browser, screen size and the page address. If you choose Necessary Only, Userback does not load and nothing is sent to it. See the Userback privacy policy.

5.5 Calendly Booking Window

When you reach a booking step, our page first shows a "Show available times" button and nothing from Calendly is loaded. Your browser does not contact calendly.com, and Calendly sets no cookies, until you click that button, whichever cookie choice you made. After you click, our page shows a Calendly scheduling window (an embedded frame loaded from calendly.com). That window is run by Calendly, not by us, and our cookie banner cannot control what Calendly loads inside it. To pass your choice on, we only tell Calendly to hide its own cookie banner if you clicked Accept All. If you chose Necessary Only (or have not chosen), Calendly shows its own cookie banner in the window and its analytics and advertising scripts are governed by that banner and the Calendly privacy policy. To save you retyping, we pass the name and email you gave us to Calendly in the address of the booking window, and Calendly receives them when you click "Show available times" and the window loads.

5.6 Other Third-Party Embeds

Our website may include other embeds from third-party services:

  • Calendar widgets (Cal.com): May set cookies for scheduling functionality
  • Video embeds (YouTube, Vimeo): May set cookies when you play a video

These services have their own privacy policies and cookie practices. We recommend reviewing them if you interact with embedded content.

6. Cookies on Our Platforms

If you use our SaaS platforms (AI Dividend, Hackathon Platform), additional cookies may be used for:

  • User authentication and session management
  • Platform functionality and user preferences
  • Security and fraud prevention

Details are provided in the platform-specific terms and privacy notices.

7. International Data Transfers

Google Analytics (with or without cookies) may transfer data to Google servers in the United States and other countries. Google is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and uses Standard Contractual Clauses for GDPR compliance. Microsoft Clarity may likewise process data in the United States and other countries under Microsoft's own transfer safeguards.

If you click Accept All, the Meta Pixel sends data to Meta Platforms, which may process it in the United States and other countries. Meta relies on its own transfer safeguards, described in its privacy policy.

Cloudflare, Userback (if you click Accept All) and Calendly may likewise process data in the United States and other countries under their own transfer safeguards, described in their privacy policies.

See our Privacy Policy for more information on international data transfers.
